A. Summary of Expansion Phase outcomes and lessons learnt
Some of the memorable features of Cycle 10 Expansion phase include :
There was successful preparation for the main Expansion Phase teaching project : “HOME VISIT”, including ‘training’ orientation and in the subsequent-days of intensive spiritual preparation through prayers . As we adopted the Tablet of Ahmad and all friends recited daily ( some friends are saying prayers all days long for the suceess of the plan
There was a different level of energy and excitement around the cluster, with about 55 Baha’is of all ages (including children), involved in the main teaching project (15 unformal firesides) and a dozen or so more were involved in other special teaching activities H/Visits . Having expo with direct teaching and also street teaching brought much joy and enthusiasm.
Over 10 (‘teaching’) teams along with many individuals were involved in the teaching project and other special teaching activities.
161+ seekers attended the EXPO , and 59 PLUS of them ended up expressing a belief in Baha’u’llah.14 of them formally registered as a Baha’i (i.e signed a card).
15 other people also declared during the two week period.
29! new believers so far in Cycle
Key things
-Speaking individually to (Baha’i) families / individuals and inviting them to be involved in TEACHING gave better results than general appeal
-There are receptive people waiting!
During the expo-teaching project and street heart to heart teaching many souls(more than 100) heard for the first time the name of Bahá’u’llah and 15accept the Faith instantly
-Baha’i teachers involved in the direct teaching project need to work on their skills & attitudes in asking seekers to accept the new Manifestation of God.
Note--
In the future we may need to upgrade our EXPO –TEACHING (USE ANNA
CONCEPTS IN IMAGE ) LSA of PL organising vis QUDDUS TEAM
Planning
The project details OF HOME VISIT IN PORT LOUIS WAS DIVIDED BY ZONE were developed on the last ATC meeting with the ABM Mrs SHEELA MUSIZSKY and co-ordinator of the cluster Joselito Pellegrin then followed by a working session between the ABM ,AND CO-ORDINATOR OF CLUSTER with the teaching project co-o rdinator josian Dholah
The idea of the projects was shared with representatives of LSAs at a regional institutional meeting on the 15TH aug the TEACHING co-ordinator re-Name the 10 teaching teams given them the names of QUDDUS, Badí etc the teaching teams received a teaching kit with a note book the team leader of the groops was lovingly encourage to report to the co—ordinator everyday of the expansion phrase . they were encourage to rely on the force of prayer and to teach everyday intensively after the Institutional meeting there was an orientation session on ANNA TEACHING
In the start of Cycle 10, it became clear that two of the collective projects, the EXPO-TEACHING and STREET TEACHING , was supported and intensive .
The EXPO TEACHING project,
took on greater dimensions than initially anticipated 19 Baha’is from the more active teams supporting each other in the opening of the expo everyday and sometime the expo was opened earlier that schedule saturday and sunday open in the morning till late the enthusiasm was so real and excitement and joy during the campaign can be feel by everyone Bahá'í and seekers alike and this has played a role in the enrollment the unity was palpable the feeling was so high and spiritual
What worked well?
1. Having resource people in every team .
2. Teams that had many contacts!
3. support and encouragement spurred people to action (+ reminders about divine assistance!).
4. Working with several teams supporting their activity
.
5. Be everywhere when needed
6. Teams and Individuals that acted with prayer & trust in God to find and invite the right people |
7- Encourage teams to teach in their respective locality if cannot come daily to the AREA HOME VISIT GOAL ( SPECIALLY THE FRIENDS IN TRIOLET P.AUX PIMENTS )
OTHER EXPANSION PHASE ACTVITY
The House of Justice stated at Riván 2007 that “carrying forward the work of expansionand consolidation hand in hand” is “the key to sustained growth.”
What does that statement
suggest in practical terms?
Clearly “hand in hand” implies that both these vital areas of activity
should be addressed from the outset of a teaching project, rather than considering consolidation
only after the expansion phase has been carried out. It means beginning with a plan for a cycle
of activity that takes into account the available human resources and identifies the friends ready
“to carry out the acts of service that would sustain large-scale expansion and consolidation,”
29-08-08 DURING A MEETING WITH THE TEACHING TEAM AROUND A POT LUCK DINNER
THE TEAM LEADER RECEIVED AS A GIFT A NAME OR NAMES OF NEW DECLARED SOULS TO NURTURE
When following up with new believers or seekers after a teachingproject, a warm, personalized approach is often the most effective in guiding these souls on their
newfound spiritual journey and gradually leading them to study circles and other core activities

One friend while installing the expo invite a man who was waiting outside the parking lot , he accepted and while our bahai friend chat with him found that his wife and children is in hospital one of his child is having bad fever, after introducing the Faith to him his wife and 2 children return , the friend invite them to come in the expo and another friend teach the wife it was interesting to note that the couple accepted the Faith instantly each with different teacher in the expo the lady lately told that she was curious allways about the centre while and wanted to know what it is !!--

How lofty is the opportunity of the Baha’is?
“Verily Christ said, ‘Come that I may make you fishers of men” and today we say ‘Come, that we
may make you quickeners of the world’ . . . Lo! This is the Day of Grace! Come ye that I may make you kings of the realm of My Kingdom. If ye obey Me you will see that which We have promised you, and I will make you the friends of My Soul in the realm of My Greatness and the Companions of My Beauty in the heaven of My Might for ever.”
(Baha’u’llah, God Passes By, p. x)
"The great thing is to `Live the Life' -- to have our lives so saturated with the Divine teachings and the Bahá'í Spirit that people cannot fail to see a joy, a power, a love, a purity, a radiance, an efficiency in our character and work that will distinguish us from worldly-minded people and make people wonder what is the secret of this new life in us. ... Unless we can show this transformation in our lives, this new power, this mutual love and harmony, then the Bahá'í teachings are but a name to us."
-- Shoghi Effendi, letter on his behalf to an individual believer, Feb. 2, 1925, in Lights of Guidance, Page 111
REFLECTION
This is the key to everything. It is the key to our own development and to the teaching effort. that simple joy, pure and beautiful joy, is what will draw the millions of souls who so need reunion with God and the noble self, to that great ingathering spoken of in One Common Faith and the 2002 letter.
When we are in the state of joy that we should be in, the joy that is merited by the magnitude of the treasure we have found, then our company will be a magnet so powerful that the troops and legions will come flooding in. Comprehension and certitude must come first, but when these foundations are laid joy must follow. Once one sees how beautiful the gift of a fresh Revelation form God is, once one knows with real conviction that all these woes of mankind will indeed be healed, then a joy so grand as to fill us to overflowing with wondrous energy must surly follow.
When people in the world around us see such a pure and unflappable joy in us that nothing phases us or disturbs us or diminishes our faith, then they will tare down the walls to get in. We will be inundated with more new members than we could ever wish for. Joy is the key. Certitude must come first. Then the willingness to act must be well rooted in us and become our natural habit. With these elements in place, joy must overtake us and dissolve all our hesitation and fear. Joy is the key. When we have learned to turn that key, the floodgates will open.
